The “progress” referred to in the name of this blog is the imperialistic and linear progress of Eurocentric colonial ideals and practices, which have despiritualized the world.  By linking the notion of “progress” with linear thought and time, we have become tools and slaves employed in a mechanistic and mindless march towards some unreal future state, completely ignorant of our existence as interdependent and relational beings enmeshed in a miraculous web of life, which is also a theater of comedy and tragedy, asurdity and drama, an incredible improbability of blessings which we are all but blind to.  By resisting progress and paying attention to reality,we can reconnect ourselves to all of our relations, once again living like human beings on a ball of rock and fire and water and air that is full of growing and living things, even as it spins and circles around a giant ball of gas and flame which hangs out along one of many arms of a spiral galaxy among many other galaxies, clustered together and floating in a cosmos that is perplexing, awe-inspiring, and wonderful.
